Creationist's Workshop

This original concept project explores a medieval workshop with a focus on the restoration of the creationist's hurdy gurdy. I'm really excited to present this, I had a blast sculpting it!
I created the assets using a combination of maya and zbrush, baked maps and tileable textures with rbg masking as well as decals. Some materials were created entirely in designer, others used height maps from scan data blended into a unique variant and used as a base for the designer pipeline.
All assets created by myself except for the crate on the barrel, pumpkin, grain jute bags, candles and out of focus background tools. I did create the ones closest to the hurdy gurdy.
I wanted the space to have not just an overall story but micro stories within. The small bit of grain scattered by the floor indicating a few mice may have found their way in. The pulley system that extends through the exterior to be hoisted by beasts of burden. The headstock blanks. The rattan mask. The little marks of a life lived is what makes it worth while.
